Gift Giving: Christmas and New Year 2025

December 19, 2025: Yes, Christmas is literally less than a week away and I am launching my gift giving guide! This is a blog post for those who have had a lot on their plate (and I hope in their bowl too ;)) and need a spark of inspiration and ‘hope’ for what can can often be just as draining giving gifts as it can be hosting lunch, or dinner.

Whether your seeing friends and family on Christmas Day or not, the holiday season offers ample time for catch ups and gift exchanges! If busy has been your schedule to close in 2024 how about we take the pressure off and consider a ‘new years’ gift. What are your family holiday plans? What are they planning on doing these holidays? Thinking about these things can help us enjoy the gift giving season without the additional time restraints that leave you feeling exhausted. I like to think ‘less really is more’. Knowing that I’ve given somebody something that they will value creates value in the moment purchasing the gift too. I like to think about:

Are they taking time off for holidays? Consider giving a wellness voucher or adventure book. If they like planning, stationery makes a great Christmas or New Year gift. You can find affordable options online or at local stores. For adventure seekers, gifts can get pricey, but small items like a compact wet bag can be very useful. If they're a family person, fun games like puzzles or fitness activities can bring everyone together. Are they into tech? These gifts can be tough to find and often cost a lot. Instead of focusing on gadgets, think about their daily activities and interests. Small desk accessories might fit their style, or a coffee gift card could be appreciated. Consider what they like to do with friends or a partner. You could go for a quirky adventure voucher, like rock climbing, or a bookstore gift card paired with gourmet snacks. If you both need some relaxation time, plan a picnic with a nice hamper and a small gift like a candle or mystery bon bon or Christmas cracker.
