Yoga Flow for Confidence (Solar Plexus Chakra)

To cultivate confidence and strengthen the solar plexus chakra (Manipura), which governs personal power and self-esteem, incorporate the following yoga flow into your practice:

1. Centering (5 minutes)

• Begin in a comfortable seated position or lying down.

• Close your eyes and take several deep breaths, focusing on the area around your navel, where the solar plexus chakra is located.

• Set an intention to cultivate confidence and inner strength.

2. Warm-Up (10 minutes)

Breath Awareness: Sit or lie down comfortably. Place one hand on your abdomen and the other on your chest. Take slow, deep breaths into your belly, feeling it rise and fall with each breath.

Seated Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana): Sit with legs extended, bend your right knee and cross your right foot over your left thigh. Place your left elbow outside your right knee, twist gently to the right, and hold for a few breaths. Repeat on the other side.

Cat-Cow Stretch: Flow between cat (rounding the spine) and cow (arching the back) poses to warm up the spine and open the heart.

3. Poses to Activate the Solar Plexus Chakra (20-25 minutes)

Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II): From a standing position, step your left foot back, bend your right knee directly over your ankle, and extend your arms parallel to the floor. Gaze over your front fingertips, feeling strong and grounded.

Boat Pose (Navasana): Sit on the floor, bend your knees, and lift your feet off the ground, balancing on your sitting bones. Extend your arms forward, parallel to the floor.

Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana): Lie on your back, bend your knees, and place your feet hip-width apart. Press into your feet and lift your hips toward the ceiling, interlacing your fingers underneath your back.

Chair Pose (Utkatasana): Stand with feet together, bend your knees, and sink your hips back as if sitting in an imaginary chair. Reach your arms overhead, palms facing each other.

4. Pranayama and Meditation (10 minutes)

Breath of Fire (Kapalabhati Pranayama): Sit comfortably, take a deep inhale, then begin short, rhythmic exhalations through your nose. Focus on the movement of your belly and feel the energy building in your solar plexus.

Solar Plexus Chakra Meditation: Visualize a bright yellow, glowing ball of light at your solar plexus. With each breath, imagine this light expanding and radiating confidence and inner strength.

5. Cool Down and Relaxation (10 minutes)

Child’s Pose (Balasana): Kneel on the mat, touch your big toes together, and sit on your heels. Separate your knees about as wide as your hips, then lay your torso down between your thighs, lengthening your tailbone away from the back of your pelvis while keeping your forehead resting on the floor.

Corpse Pose (Savasana): Lie on your back with your legs straight and arms by your sides, palms facing up. Close your eyes and relax your entire body, letting go of any remaining tension.

6. Closing (5 minutes)

• Slowly awaken your body with gentle stretches and movements.

• Sit quietly and reflect on your practice, noticing any sensations of confidence and empowerment in your body and mind.

• Bring your hands to your heart center and bow your head in gratitude for the strength and courage within you.

Tips for Practice:

Empower Your Poses: Engage your core and feel the power and strength in each pose.

Breathe with Confidence: Practice deep, intentional breathing to enhance the flow of energy.
